IRAM Businesses’ Nominated for IGA Excellence Awards
We are thrilled to congratulate IRAM Businesses Merredin IGA and Tennant Creek IGA on being named finalists in the prestigious 2025 IGA "Awards of Excellence." These nominations are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and community spirit demonstrated by both stores throughout the past year.
Merredin IGA has been recognised as a finalist for the Community Award for its unwavering commitment to supporting and uplifting the local community. Tennant Creek IGA has achieved dual nominations in both the Community Award and the Meat Department Award categories, reflecting the store's exceptional service, quality offerings, and strong community engagement.
The IGA "Awards of Excellence" celebrate the remarkable achievements of independent supermarkets across Australia. These awards honor the dedication, innovation, and community involvement that are the cornerstone of IGA stores nationwide. With only 21 awards presented each year, competition is fierce, particularly among the 169 Western Australian medium-sized IGAs vying for just 11 honors. Finalists represent the highest standards of excellence, consistency, and that special "X" factor that distinguishes them in the industry.
"Day in and day out, IGA and Foodland IGA stores across the country deliver phenomenal experiences to local shoppers, striving to build thriving local communities," said a spokesperson for IGA. "In recognizing these individuals, teams, and stores, we acknowledge the true essence of local and what it really means to be an IGA."
Both Merredin IGA and Tennant Creek IGA are managed by IRAM, an organization dedicated to ensuring the commercial viability of retail assets while delivering profits and social benefits to shareholders. IRAM operates in alignment with the goals of Indigenous Business Australia (IBA), working to facilitate and enhance Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement in the broader economy.
The nominations underscore the remarkable efforts of Merredin IGA and Tennant Creek IGA in fostering community connections, driving local economic growth, and providing exceptional service to customers. Their achievements highlight the vital role that independent supermarkets play in nurturing resilient and vibrant communities.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to both teams and wish them the best of luck in the final selection process. Winners of the 2025 IGA "Awards of Excellence" will be announced at the official awards ceremony later this year.
